High temperature resistance of phenyl silicone rubber

The excellent high temperature resistance of phenyl silicone rubber is mainly due to the presence of siloxane groups. Siloxane groups have high chemical inertness and thermal stability, are not easy to decompose, and can maintain good elasticity and physical properties at high temperatures. In addition, the polarity of siloxane groups is small, and the intermolecular interaction force is weak, which enables it to maintain good fluidity and elasticity at high temperatures. These characteristics are conducive to the high temperature stability and high temperature resistance of phenyl silicone rubber.

Weather resistance of phenyl silicone rubber

The presence of phenyl structure is the main factor leading to the poor weather resistance of phenyl silicone rubber. The double bonds in the phenyl group are easily affected by ultraviolet radiation and undergo oxidation reactions, resulting in aging and cracking of phenyl silicone rubber. In addition, the aromatic ring structure in the phenyl group is also prone to cracking reactions, which affects the performance of phenyl silicone rubber.

Wear resistance of phenyl silicone rubber

The presence of siloxane groups is the main reason for the poor wear resistance of phenyl silicone rubber. Siloxane groups are relatively soft and easy to wear during use, resulting in a decrease in the wear resistance of phenyl silicone rubber.

Flame resistance of phenyl silicone rubber

The phenyl structure contains a large number of aromatic rings, which are prone to combustion, so the flame resistance of phenyl silicone rubber is poor. The combustion performance of phenyl silicone rubber depends on the phenyl content and the orientation of the phenyl structure. The presence of siloxane groups has a certain effect on the flame resistance of phenyl silicone rubber. The silicon-oxygen bond and oxygen-oxygen bond in the siloxane group are both very stable chemical bonds, which are not easy to burn and can improve the flame resistance of phenyl silicone rubber. In addition, siloxane groups can release water when burning, which can play a cooling role, inhibit the spread of flames, and is also conducive to improving the flame resistance of phenyl silicone rubber.
